What a year 2019 has been for all of us here at Social INK. Let me start by taking this opportunity to say a massive thank you to everybody we’ve had the great fortune to talk to, work with and collaborate with over the course of the year. 

From my side, I wanted to begin by saying a huge thank you to the team here at Social INK. They make me laugh, they make me smile, they occasionally make me frown and cringe, but they make me very proud! 

Together, we’ve all been on one hell of a journey this year, and I wanted to share some of my personal highlights. 

1. Our Monthly Challenges

During 2019, we set ourselves some challenges as an agency. Something for us to focus on as a team. Some were a lot of fun, others were a little challenging, to say the least. In March we decided to get involved in One Minute Briefs every day. We got a chance to meet their awesome creative community and bag ourselves an award as an agency.

Then we went live, every day, for 30 days. This was a lot of fun. The whole team got involved and the results were clear to see. The one challenge that was more stressful (and I’m sure the team would have a different word for it) was the 100 blogs in a month challenge. This took a lot of coordination, hard work and grit from the team to pull this off. Then there was the “let’s launch a podcast in 30 days” challenge. This resulted in the creation of the All About Digital Marketing podcast (now on Episode 26, at the time of writing). Our challenges will be back in 2020, and we can’t wait to get stuck in. 

2. Becoming a Drum Recommended agency

2019 became a huge year of change and growth for us as an agency. It was all about finding the right ways for us to partner and develop our relationships within the industry. With this in mind, I’m ecstatic to let you know that we are in fact now a recommended agency on The Drum. Even more pleasing is the 9.1 rating our clients have given us. We’re thrilled to see the people we work with not only rate us so highly, but also feel proud enough to comment on our work on such a public forum. 

3. Winning OMBassadors of the year 

In October 2019, the team headed to Manchester to take part in the OMB Live 6 celebrations. One Minute Briefs is an amazing creative community that meets online every day to enter the One Minute Brief of the day. We were thrilled to be announced as OMBassadors of the year, our first award as an agency, and one that meant so much to us bearing in mind how much we love the OMB community. A big thank you to Nick and all the OMBles. Just for being so awesome and helping us all flex our creative muscles every day. 

4. Becoming a Mailchimp Partner

It’s not just about awards, creativity and challenges this year. We were also invited to join the Mailchimp Partner programme. For years we have encouraged our clients to develop their mail list. And we’ve always recommended Mailchimp as it has a fantastic (free) offering, to help people get started. It’s a privilege to be recognised as a partner firm. I can’t wait to see what else they bring out next, as their offering continues to surpass being just an email newsletter platform. 

5. Winning the KFC #ILoveBaconBurger OMB 

We talk a lot about the OMB community. And that’s because we believe it’s an incredible place for creatives, brands, and community to come together and create something truly remarkable. The level and quality of the briefs that are created on a daily basis is absolutely remarkable. But one that I’m really proud of this year, is the KFC I Love You Bacon Burger OMB. Yes, that’s right. I’m proud because the Social INK team crushed it and came up with the nearly iconic, “Got Beef With Bacon?” idea which was chosen by KFC UK & Ireland as the winner. 

Some other things Social INK got up to:

  • We’ve built some amazing websites;
  • Worked with fantastic, inspiring clients;
  • And partnered up with Studio for Digital Growth to take our clients even further on Google.

There’s so much more I’d love to talk about in this piece. But I’m not going to bore you with all the ins and outs and little wins we’ve had along the way.

Really, all that’s left to say now is a huge thank you to our clients, who continue to trust and believe in us to create engaging, community-driven content for their brands. And to the team. A huge thank you: Anna, Gareth, James, Lucy, Sagar and all those that I’ve had the pleasure to work with over the last 12 months. 

Finally, to all our partners and suppliers. Thank you again for allowing us to continually build our business and offer the best possible service and solutions to our customers.
