I wanted to take a moment to update you on our current challenge. This month is #June100, where we have committed to publishing 100 blogs in a month. When we set out to make this happen, we were all feeling a little on-edge. It’s a lot of content to create, but as a small, agile team, we felt we could make this happen. As we reached the halfway point a few days ago, I thought I would take a look back at the month. This has proved to be our toughest internal digital marketing challenge so far.

55 Blogs and Counting

When you start a challenge, like this one, or any of the challenges, you always keep an eye on the numbers. It’s a bit like setting off on a long car journey in my opinion. When you know you have 1,000 miles to cover, you don’t start thinking 999 miles to go, 998 miles to go, 997 miles to go. If you did, you would go crazy, right?

Instead, you start driving, you keep yourself busy and engaged, singing along to music, listening to the news, maybe even an audiobook or a podcast to get you going. As you’ve been driving for about an hour or so, you look down and you realise that you’ve covered 70 or so miles. You start feeling a bit better. A couple of hours later, you nearing 300 miles and now you’re only focused on the halfway point. That’s the next goal.

The same applies to any of our monthly challenges. We throw ourselves in to, just like any client project we would work on. As we’ve worked through it, we suddenly reached our halfway point.

100 Blogs in June

To publish 100 blogs in 30 days, you need to post 3-4 articles every day. That includes the weekends. Now, if you’ve got 100 team members, you could say every team member needs to write 1 article. If, on the other hand, you have 5 people in your team, the numbers don’t look the same.

The content we’ve been creating during this challenge has been a mix. We’ve shared news, keyword-focused content to help with organic traffic, and some tutorial/educational blogs. All in all, we want to help people who are trying to do more with their digital marketing.

It’s not every day that KFC picks your ad concept out of nearly 150 as the winner for a brief. We were so proud, so we had to share all about it.

6 Inspiring Father’s Day Ads and Campaigns in 2019
This one made this list for a very different reason. We published it a few days before Father’s Day. It’s proven to be very popular. People are finding it in search as well as engaging with it on social media too. Food for thought for your own blog. Make sure you’re writing about what’s happening in the world around you, too.

20 Social Media Video Ideas for Small Businesses
In case you hadn’t noticed, here at Social INK, we love our video, especially on social media. In May, our internal digital marketing challenge was #30DaysOfLive. As the name suggests, every day we created a live video. If we can do it every day, you can definitely give it a go. We even created a step-by-step guide, how to go live on Facebook, to encourage more businesses to do the same.

The Home Stretch

The next 11 days are going to be a challenge. Just like they were designed to be. But we’re not just working on the blogs. Over the next few weeks, you’ll be seeing more announcements regarding our service offering and the team behind the scenes. You’ll want to keep an eye out, especially for what’s coming in July (no spoilers!).
