It’s not that it doesn’t work for businesses, because seriously, it can! It’s all about the lifestyle, the product, the all encompassing “je ne sais quoi”! 

But here’s the truth, after having put some effort in, I’ve seen the results, and I genuinely think it’s a platform that can have a huge impact on particular businesses. 

It’s more about influencer marketing than anything else. I’ve helped clients build 4k, 7k and 11k followers plus audiences. But I haven’t found that it’s worked for the service industry. 

However, Facebook, the owners of Instagram, are really helping people to develop their audience! 

Whether it be on FB Pages or even Groups (just like ours – It’s All About Digital Marketing)! They are doing everything they can to make sure that people see what is working and what’s not! They can help advertisers to develop their platforms. 

It doesn’t matter if you go down the route of a group or a page, it’s all about helping you to make more money! The Facebook platform is great at building a bigger audience, a targeted audience, an audience that ultimately wants to buy your product! 

But identify your product and your target audience before you start advertising on the platform. If you don’t, you will soon find that you are spending more money than you had originally planned! 

So why didn’t I continue with Instagram posts? Well, for my particular line of work, I didn’t find that it worked! But don’t take my word for it. You can find our test on a Google Sheet that you can access to see what we did and what happened! I just don’t think it is a channel that will work for us, and we don’t want to dedicate the time to keep it going in the hope that eventually it will!
